This results in less available bone that is suitable for placement of implants.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Bone grafting to the deficient area allows better support for the implant to restore function and aesthetics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">The bone used is either your own bone or obtained from a tissue bank.\u00a0 Special membranes may be used to cover and protect the bone graft. This promotes natural healing and bone growth.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><strong>Socket Grafting<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">A socket is the area of your jaw where the tooth was occupied prior to its removal.\u00a0\u00a0 When a tooth has been removed, the bone will benefit from socket grafting.\u00a0 This is a procedure that rebuilds the bone to help maintain height and width.\u00a0 This betters allows for tooth replacement by an implant or a bridge restoration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">After the tooth has been removed and the socket has been cleaned, bone grafting material will then be placed.\u00a0 Sometimes, a membrane will be placed over the bone graft to preserve, protect and promote healing of the graft material.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">There is usually a three to four month healing time for the grafted material to fully combine with your natural bone. The healing process should be completed before placing the implant.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><strong>Sinus Lift<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">The back teeth in the upper jaw are located beneath the maxillary sinus.\u00a0 With age, the sinus expands toward the roots of the teeth.\u00a0 When these teeth are missing, there is often insufficient bone available to hold implants.
